Damage to your vehicle’s glass is a very pesky issue. Whether a flying stone chipped your window on the highway, or random debris found its way to your car door’s window, you’re in for some headaches if you don’t call us now. That’s because auto glass damage continues to spread until it reaches the corners of the surface. The process might be slower or faster paced depending on each case, but it will eventually happen. This effect is known as “spider-webbing”, and it requires our professional services to make sure that you keep driving in safe conditions.

Your vehicle identification number, or VIN for short, is a code unique to your automobile. It also includes the serial number of the maker of the vehicle. As such, it can be used to determine the country of origin, the model of the car, the type of components it uses and so forth.

On the frame near the wiper fluid for your front windshield
The easiest way to tell if you have a rain sensor is to wait and see if your wipers turn on automatically when it starts raining. If you live in a drier area though, just have a look at the bottom of your rearview mirror, and there should be a square shaped camera pointing outwards.
If you notice another sensor as well around that area, that’s most likely a light sensor, which should be directly on the back of the rearview mirror.
Simply put, this is a type of sensor that automatically turns your headlights on and off. It is mounted on your windshield or on the back of your rear view mirror. However, the best way to tell if you have one is just to drive while it’s getting dark, and see if your headlights turn on automatically.
The sensor detects the changes in ambient light which you might not be paying that much attention to, since you are gradually getting used to them.
A heads-up display removes the need for you to take your eyes off the road, by having your dashboard on the windshield.
Basically, the HUD is projected on your windshield, and since it is transparent, it allows you to see the road clearly, without having to look down in order to check your speed.
An infrared-reflective windshield filters out the infrared waves of sunlight. No, not all of it, but up to 50% is reflected back in the atmosphere. This helps keep your car stay cooler, saving you money on gas in the long run.
The easiest way to tell if you have an IR windshield is by looking for a purplish haze on it. Another good indication is if your car is noticeably cooler than others on the inside.
Night vision systems are a modern technology in vehicles, so checking your manual should be the first step here. The system works through the use of a sensor which can “see” farther than you can at night, even with the aid of your headlights.
This sensor can differentiate if a certain object is static, moving, or even alive, and warn you ahead of time if danger is imminent. This can be extremely helpful in many cases, as you can’t always be sure that the road ahead is clear at night.
A windshield shade band is a straight-up improvement to your sun visor. It’s basically a blue-ish strip at the top of your windshield, which helps filter out sunlight that can make your driving experiences unpleasant.
If you aren’t regularly adjusting your seating position or playing around with your sun visor, that’s a good indication you might have a vinyl windshield visor that’s helping keep the sun out of your eyes.
The function of a heated windshield is to melt ice or snow during the winter season. If you spot any thin, curvy wires across the windshield, especially near the base of the wipers, then your windshield is heated. This is the same for your rear windshield.
Another very simple way to figure out if you have a car windshield heater is to check your dashboard for a button which would correspond to a front or rear windshield heater.

I live in Chandler Az and take the freeways for work and windshield glass breakage is an all too common occurrence in Az. I have had bad experiences in the past with BIG NAME glass repair shops who were contracted by my insurance. This time when I has to change the windshield, I decided to explore what options were there. The previous installer would not give me an OEM windshield and installed a cheaper version. I saw PROLITE's ad in their webpage for glass replacements and they were running cash back specials. I was a bit skeptic as to how this will work as my previous experiences were not great. I spoke to , I believe it was Nick, and he answered all my questions regarding the glass and when I told him I needed an OEM model for the glass, he willingly said that it is all they install in all their work. They contacted my insurance and set up a time to meet me at work. The tech guy Anthony, arrived on time and I was pleasantly surprised to see meticulous work and excellent quality of glass, not to mention the cash back part. In all it was a very nice experience.

I called Prolite Auto Glass after another company decided not to show up for the scheduled appointment. Everything from the initial phone call, to the service was great! My windshield needed replaced and I had contacted a few companies and pro lite made the process easy and fast. They were at my house the next day, it only took 30 min to replace my windshield and once they were finished they handed me a check. I guess that if you have full glass coverage with a zero deductible then some companies offer incentives. This was the only company who paid at time of service where other companies expect you to wait 2 weeks. The only thing that I would change is that they pay in cash instead of check because to cash it costs $8. But they were great

1st time I used Prolite auto Glass. They were actually early on the Appointment. The did call me head and say they were going to early. But when they arrived turned out they had the wrong windshield. The tech said they would make a phone and order the correct one. They also then called back said the had the correct windshield and we're on the way back to install. These guys were as good as it gets for glass replacement. I had them out for two replacements, and Acura and a BMW. They walked me through the process, stayed online during the conversations with my insurance company, and were on time. We did a walk around on the vehicle, pre-inspected the glass, and had detail instructions on leaving. I like that they stand by their product with a warranty and are only a phone call away. Overall I would highly recommend them for your glass replacement.
